Bearer of the stream

Agama is revealed scripture — the body of teaching that tells us how the sacred is invited into form. Dhara is a stream, a current, an unbroken pouring. Agamadhara is the carrying forward of that current: not the invention of something new, but the faithful passing on of what was received.

How this began

It began with a disappointment. A devotee in our family ordered a five mukhi Rudraksha for her daily japa and received a dyed betel nut with grooves cut into it by a machine. She had worn it for eleven months before a priest noticed. That is not a small thing — it is a year of sincere practice offered into an empty object.

We started Agamadhara so that no one else would have to trust blindly. We went to the growers in Nepal and Java ourselves. We learned to read mukhi under magnification and to read an X-ray of a bead's internal compartments. We sat with a shilpi who could tell us why a murti's mudra must fall exactly where the canon says it falls. Slowly, an accountable supply chain took the place of hope.

Our shrine and our rite

Every item passes through our shrine before it travels. It is cleansed as its nature requires, then energized with the deity's root mantra — a minimum of 108 repetitions, more for yantras and murtis. The rite is recorded: which mantra, how many repetitions, which day, by whose hand. That record travels with your order.

We do not sell what we would not place on our own altar. When a bead arrives cracked, it does not get discounted; it gets returned to the earth. When we cannot verify a stone's origin, we decline the lot, even at a loss. Custodianship is expensive. It is also the only honest way to do this work.

• We will never describe an item as something it is not, and we will always name what we do not know.
• We will explain before we sell — what the item is for, and when it is not the right choice for you.
• We will give guidance freely, for the life of the item, whether or not you bought it from us.
• We will refund without argument if any laboratory contradicts our description.
